Once again Damian and Danielle organized trash pickup of the area around Oak Creek Crossing. Damian wrote: "A big thank you to everyone who joined us this morning for our Annual(Mostly) Creek Cleanup at Red Rock Crossing! The event went off without a hitch, and it was a joy to see so many familiar faces showing up to care for our beautiful creek and trails.
"We had 15 wonderful volunteers participate this year, and your efforts made a real impact. Special thanks to: Paul & Jennifer, Dylan and Carol, Brad and Penha, Paul and Mary, Gary, Karen, Del Rae, Robert, and Miki for taking time out of your Labor Day weekend to join us and help preserve Oak Creek.
"Together, we gathered 30.1 pounds of trash and 10.2 pounds of recyclables — a total of 40.3 pounds! That’s a bit less than in many past years, and we take that as an encouraging sign, especially given the steady stream of locals and visitors who enjoy this area year-round.
"The weather was beautiful this morning, with clear skies and the temperature climbing to about 89°F by the time we wrapped up in the Baldwin Trail parking lot. All in all, it was a productive, meaningful, and enjoyable morning.
“Thank you again for your time, energy, and commitment to our community and environment!”
