Carol and Jeffery moved to Sedona from California. Looking for a Rotary Club to join here, they were attracted to the Rotary Club of Sedona Village because of the Community Garden.

Carol's background is teaching and school administration. Jeffery has had many financial-related positions, but all of them included becoming knowledgeable in environmental issues.
Carol's first degree was in agriculture and she taught high school agriculture for 15 years before moving into school administration.  In 1999 she opened a private learning center ion California ( Keeping PaceLearningCenter.com) While she was a high school  administrator "I saw how the students with mild to moderate learning disabilities and difficulties were not being served and it broke my heart."

She sold my 95% of business in 2020 and now works remotely to support the continuation of the business.

She can talk about anything related to education.  She was a Toastmaster many years ago.

Her dad was a Rotarian and was District Governer. He loved his experience with Rotary.  His sense of purpose was expanded. "I used to joke with him how he finally grew up in Rotary."

Carol says, "I would like to do be involved with community service that helps meet the needs of children, teens and families.   International  service is enticing to me. The Community Garden project is the reason that this particular club drew me over the other Rotary Club options available."

Jeffery put himself through school playing in a band in the late 70s/early 80s. He worked for the California Department of Toxic Substances Control which is California's equivalent of the EPA.

He enjoys music. He enjoy reading thrillers and biographies.  He and Carol have traveled extensively together and are looking forward to when we can travel again after Covid. Carol and Jeffery are also interested in theater and go to New York City every other year.  Jeffery says, "I was a fairly good golfer when I was much younger, and was an assistant professional at Haggin Oaks G.C. in Sacramento." He also played basketball until his Mid 40s.

"I want to make our community a better place, so Community Service is high on my list.  I also like to be involved in environmental issues.
