2020 Veterans Day program at Sedona Winds began with presenting the colors by Sedona Scout Troop 48 sponsored by the Church of the Red Rocks. The United States Flag ceremony was led by Senior Patrol Leader Life Scout R.J. Edwards, who has enlisted in the U.S. Marines and reports for duty next July.

To keep socially distanced residents of Sedona Winds sat or stood by the building, while Rotarians assembled across the cul de sac. Pastor Fred Mast gave an invocation and all military persons at Sedona Winds and in the Rotary Club of Sedona Village were honored.
The Boy Scouts each told what the American flag means to them.  The group was then entertained with patriotic music of various war eras by singer Jeannie Carroll.  The program ended with two minutes of silence as is the tradition at ceremonies like this on Veteran’s Day.  The residents each received a bag of sweets and an America flag from the Rotary as the returned inside. Afterward, the club received a note from Sedona Winds Activity Director Christine Savelle:  I can’t thank you enough! The event was a total hit. Superb job! The residents are still talking about it…and will for days I’m sure! BRAVO!
