The Rotary Club of Sedona Village has partnered with the Rotary Clubs of Sedona, Sedona Red Rocks, and Verde Valley-Cottonwood for a Rotary Week of Service project.
The Rotary International Week of Service is April 17-24 this year and all Rotary Clubs are encouraged to engage in service projects in their community to make a greater impact. Each year, Rotary members around the world log 16 million volunteer hours on projects on an international scale and in their own backyards.

The Rotary Club of Sedona Village, together with three local Rotary Clubs will be encouraging club members and those in the community to get outside and clean up the areas around them. Club members and anyone in the community are encouraged to take a hike, or a walk around their neighborhood and pick up trash.

The trash collected will be weighed, counted, and submitted to the Keep Nature Wild website for record keeping. The goal for the clubs combined efforts is 1,000 pounds of garbage collected from April 17-24.

“Partnering with local Rotary clubs is just one way to increase our impact in our community. By working together, we can expand our reach, clean up more garbage, and extend the invitation to anyone interested. Come and join us in Sedona, the Village of Oak Creek, and Cottonwood to clean up our trails and communities,” President-elect, Heather Hermen.

Members of the community are asked to take part in this safe, clean, community minded activity. Take a hike, or a walk around your neighborhood, pick up trash, weigh it, snap a photo, and send to heather@frontburnermedia.com, to have your collection added to the total.
