At the May 1 meeting, Club President Chuck Marr recognized several members for their outstanding service. Carol Hess, President-Elect, received her first Paul Harris Fellow award. New members Brad Parker and Del Rae Cruzen were acknowledged for their active participation in Rotary projects with Rotary Four-Way Test pins.
The Village club also sponsors two Rotary Interact Clubs — at Red Rock High School in Sedona and the Verde Valley School. Jennette Bill presented plaques and extended sincere thanks to Teresa Lamparter, Club Advisor at Red Rock High School, and Ben Lee, Headmaster and Advisor at Verde Valley School. Both Interact clubs remain highly active and supportive of community events.
Steve Fiedler, Co-Chair of the Village Art in the Roundabout project, provided an update on this unique initiative to install original sculptures in the four Village roundabouts. After four years of planning, the project has signed contracts with two artists to create the initial sculptures.
As the flagship project of the Sedona Village Partnership, the effort is now actively seeking approximately $200,000 to fund the first two installations. Those interested in supporting the project may donate by check made payable to Sedona Village Partnership and mail to: 15 Redrock Court, Sedona, Arizona 86351.
The Rotary Club of Sedona Village hosts its annual Spring Plant Sale May 10, 7:30–11 AM, at the Village Rotary Community Garden, 25 W. Saddlehorn. Features include pollinator plants, garden starts, local seeds, and booths from community groups. All are welcome to celebrate the growing season and support Rotary projects.
