Welcome: Damian opened the meeting with gusto and announced that the meeting was really a Club Assembly. The tables had been formed into a square so everyone was facing each other. He reminded all what an Assembly was about “member issues and questions” and asked for all attendees to participate and bring up issues that the club needed to review and discuss.
Greeter: Peg was the greeter. Her Thought of the Day” was: “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: What are you doing for others?” She led us in the Pledge and 4 Way Test.
Guests: Mari Martin (Carolyn’s daughter), Karen Tonkinson Hilton Hotels, and Alice Mader Sedona Charter School, Ken Rouse (soon to be inducted as a member).
Happy Bucks: None due to Assembly Agenda.

Assembly: there were several people who started the conversation of “why they joined Rotary.” which moved to “We need to think out of the box regarding a signature event, to a new preschool at Big park school that needs funding, to What are Rotary International projects?? To How do we participate in those projects? To… we do need a signature project…. Carolyn handed out colored cards that could be used to note what “cause” we could participate in from an International, National, Verde Valley and Village perspective. She asked all attendees to fill them in and bring to the next meeting. Although we did not summarize this session, this scribe’s perception is that it was positive, and that we probably need to have more “Open Assemblies” in the future.
We adjourned at 8:30.
