We had our first hybrid meeting! Sure, we had our technical challenges, but it was so nice to be in the classroom and meet face to face with fellow Rotarians. We're working on solving some glitches and hope to be better with our presentation at the next meeting. We welcomed Paul Amadio from Verde Valley School. Paul shared the history of Verde Valley School and how it was started based on a love story. The founders wanted a place where people from all over the world could be welcomed and accepted with love. The school covers 300 acres and was purchased at $8 an acre back in 1946. The school is about bringing people together, providing learning opportunities everyday, and understanding and appreciating everyone. Their foundation is rooted in acceptance. They also value physical labor and students give back during their time at the school. By the time they graduate they will have contributed 1,000 hours each in service. The Farm has become an example of student experience, curriculum, and sustainable opportunities. They are looking for more opportunities to partner with the community and look forward to working with Rotary and other organizations. To find out more about the school, please click here.
