Community Connection at Rotary Club of Sedona Village
At a recent meeting of the Rotary Club of Sedona Village, members welcomed Judy Poe, Executive Director of the Community Library Sedona, as guest speaker.
Poe shared exciting updates about the Library’s future, including a strategic rebranding to Community Sedona Library — a name that better reflects its evolving mission and broader vision. She emphasized that a library is not just a collection of books, but a community of people — a hub for learning, engagement, and connection.
Judy also expressed concern over the recent reduction in funding for libraries and museums in Yavapai County and across the nation, underscoring the importance of continued support for these essential community institutions.
The Rotary Club appreciated her insight, passion, and leadership in shaping the Library into a vibrant, inclusive resource for all.
The Rotary Club of Sedona Village is proud to welcome Karen Heinze as its newest member. A recent resident of the Village, Karen quickly embraced the club’s mission, becoming an active participant in the Youth Committee. At her induction, Membership Chair Carol Hess presented Karen with a plaque featuring the Rotary Four-Way Test, a guiding principle for Rotarians worldwide. Karen’s sponsor, Del Rae Cruzen, officially pinned her as a Rotary member, marking the beginning of her journey in service. Club President Chuck Marr warmly welcomed Karen, stating: "We believe you have the leadership abilities and service qualities that will help our club grow, while also sharing the Spirit of Rotary throughout our community and wherever you travel." The Rotary Club of Sedona Village is thrilled to have Karen on board and looks forward to her contributions in making a difference in the community.
