Guatemala Literacy Project
We were joined on Thursday, January 20, by Christi Eisenberg, of the Guatemala Literacy Project (GLP). GLP is one of the largest grassroots, multi-club, multi-district projects in Rotary. More than 600 clubs and 80 districts have been working together since 1997 to improve education for underserved students in Guatemala. In that time, nearly 225,500 students have been served through four sustainable programs that are tested and proven to work.

The partner with communities to help with reading, textbooks, computers, and youth development. The GLP connects individual and club sponsors to students, classrooms, and schools in Guatemala that need their support. This year, GLP clubs and individuals are rallying to sponsor over 300 Rise Program scholars who will not be able to stay in school next year without their support.

There's still time to make your donation to the GLP by clicking here and choosing Guatemala Literacy in the drop down box. We look forward to hearing about more opportunities for our club to be involved!
Welcome to the club, Lynn Gilley!

A fifth-generation Floridian, Lynn has broken the cycle of palm tree- and ocean-sunset gazing in favor of the glories of the Arizona landscape. Always interested in the other side of the fence she has previously claimed residence in Georgia, Tennessee, Texas, Pennsylvania and New Mexico.

Lynn’s current role is as Director of Human Resources for Clark’s Markets in Arizona, Colorado and Utah. As a software implementation consultant and global road warrior for most of her professional life, she has been privileged to travel extensively. Sadly, she has no skill in acquiring other languages but global inter-relationships are important to her as is gaining appreciation for different cultures.

Lynn and her husband Tom currently live in Cottonwood and have no children- but 2 fur-babies and 2 feathered friends keep them busy with parental duties.

It's Tax Credit time! Remember, helping with tax credit in the Sedona Oak Creek Unified School District, helps with funds for Rotary opportunities for our youth.
