The Rotary Club of Sedona Village recently welcomed Bo Cofield, Chief Operating Officer at Northern Arizona Healthcare (NAH), as a guest speaker. An experienced healthcare leader, Bo has been serving NAH and the Northern Arizona region since 2023.
Bo provided an overview of NAH, which operates the hospitals in Flagstaff and Cottonwood, serving much of Northern Arizona. He then focused on healthcare in the Verde Valley, sharing key statistics that highlight the critical role NAH plays in the region:
4,700+ inpatient discharges
~16,500 inpatient patient days
22,600+ emergency department visits at Cottonwood
8,100+ emergency department visits at Sedona
2,700+ operating room procedures
~110,000 imaging procedures
100,000+ clinic and physical therapy visits
Bo noted that primary care visits are growing at an annual rate of 5%. To help meet this increasing demand, two new Nurse Practitioners and a new primary care physician will begin providing care in the Verde Valley this summer.
His presentation underscored the ongoing commitment of NAH to expanding access to quality healthcare in our community.
On February 28, the Rotary Club of Sedona Village proudly hosted Career Day 2025, an inspiring and impactful event that brought together over 450 students from grades 5-12 across three schools: Sedona Red Rock High School, Sedona Red Rock Middle School, and Sedona Charter School. Held at Sedona Red Rock High School, the event provided students with a unique opportunity to explore diverse career paths and connect with professionals from a wide range of industries.
With 41 presenters representing fields such as healthcare, engineering, technology, arts, hospitality, and public service, students engaged in interactive sessions, hands-on demonstrations, and insightful discussions. Each presenter shared their professional journey, offering valuable advice and inspiration to the next generation.
The Rotary Club of Sedona Village remains committed to empowering young minds by connecting them with mentors and real-world experiences. Career Day 2025 was a resounding success, reinforcing the importance of education, ambition, and community support in shaping tomorrow’s leaders.
Thank you to Jennette Bill and the members of the Club’s Youth Committeee who made this event possible. Together, we are building brighter futures!
