Best Wishes for a Happy Holiday Season and a Joyous New Year

The end of year holidays are a time of giving and gifting! Our Club finds a lot of joy in the opportunities that the season presents.

Each year the club adopts needy families through Hope House and referred by the local school.

Members of the club also volunteer to deliver gifts to clients of Verde Valley Caregivers Coalition that have been collected through the public Holiday Project.

Program Spotlight:Hope House Of Sedona

Providing a safe haven where unhoused families find shelter, support, and the tools for lasting stability.

This week, Sedona Village Rotary was treated to a truly uplifting program as Holly Johnson shared the heart and mission of Hope House of Sedona. Members were reminded that sometimes the most powerful work happening in our community is right in our own backyard.

Hope House serves families with children who are experiencing homelessness, providing not just transitional housing, but something even more important—hope and a clear path forward. Through shelter, case management, job readiness, and educational support, families are empowered to rebuild their lives and move toward lasting independence.

Holly’s presentation highlighted how compassion, dignity, and collaboration can change lives—and how Rotary partnerships help make this life-changing work possible. There were plenty of nodding heads and full hearts as we learned how local action truly creates lasting impact.

💙 A wonderful reminder of why Service Above Self matters—right here in Sedona.

Member Spotlight:

Kevin Fry

Whenever we get the chance, we love to shine the spotlight on one of our own—and this week we were delighted to hear from Kevin Fry, one of our newest members since moving to the Village (though certainly not new to Rotary!).

Kevin shared that service to the community is truly his passion, and his enthusiasm and entertaining style quickly had all of us smiling and fully engaged. He also gave us a glimpse into his other great loves: his children, fishing, and his car—proudly pictured in the background!

Sedona Village Rotary is lucky to have Kevin’s energy, heart for service, and great sense of humor as part of our club. We’re so glad you’re here, Kevin! 💙

📌 Important Upcoming Meeting Notes

No Meeting – January 1
Please note that there will be no Rotary meeting on January 1 in observance of the holiday.

🍽️ January 15 – Special Potluck & District Governor Visit

Our January 15 meeting will be a potluck, beginning promptly at 7:00 a.m. This will be a special event, and all members, guests, and spouses are warmly invited to attend.

We are honored to welcome a visit from our District Governor, who will give a special presentation.

What is a District Governor?
In Rotary, the District Governor is the elected leader of all Rotary clubs within our geographic district. They support local clubs, share Rotary’s vision and goals, and help connect our club’s service projects to the broader impact of Rotary International. A District Governor visit is always a meaningful opportunity to celebrate our work and be inspired.

🥗 February 5 – Lunch Meeting & RYLA Student Presentations

Please note that our February 5 meeting will be a luncheon, rather than our usual morning meeting.

We are excited to hear from the students we sponsored to attend RYLA.

What is RYLA?
RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) is a Rotary-sponsored leadership program for young people. It focuses on building leadership skills, confidence, teamwork, and service values through hands-on activities and mentorship. Our sponsored students will share their experiences and what they gained from this impactful program.

Many thanks to our Sponsors and Local Restaurants for The Taste Of The Village and sponsoring our club activities.
