Welcome: David Gill, acting president, in Damian’s absence “Costa Rica” opened the meeting at 7:35 and handed off to Mark who was the Greeter.

Greeter: The thought of the day came from that profound philosopher Jackie Gleason: “If you have it, and you know you have it, then you have it. If you have it and don’t know you have then you don’t have it. If you don’t have it, but you think you have it, then you have it!” Mark led the group in the pledge and the 4Way Test.
Guests: Guests were introduced: Donna Hawk, Asst Gov, Winnie Muench (Sedona Ballet), Joanna McPherson, Village learning Center.
Program #1Sedona Ballet: Winnie Muench provided a nice overview of Sedona Ballet. They need support to keep the Ballet going. She announced that the ballet, Eleve’, would be performed live, April 4th, 7pm, Prices start at $40 pp.  at the Sedona performing Arts Center. The Ballet is a 501c3tax exempt organization. Checks can be sent to Sedona Chamber ballet, Inc, 730 Crown Ridge Rd., Sedona, AZ, 86351.
Program #2: Sedona Village Learning Center: Joanna McPherson provided a very good overview of the SVLC. It too is a non profit 501c3 tax exempt organization. It provides a creative problem solving, critical thinking environment for children 3-5 years old. The curriculum includes science, art and sustainability. Middle and low income families will benefit the most. The school is set up to attract students from the wider Verde Valley. Critical dates: March 2: Meet and Greet, 3-11 Back to school Night, 3-16 , 1st day of school. Located in a classroom at Big Park Community School. The Teacher is Shara Coughlin who is credentialled and certified. They provide full and ½ curriculum, 4-5 days a week. Tuition is $600-800 per student per month depending on the package selected. The expectation is to be at an enrollment of 19 by year 1.
Fine Dine and Wine: For the Village Learning Center. JWine Bistro, 6pm, March 16th. $100 pp.
Future Chef Extravaganza: David provided on overview of what he called the Future Chef extravaganza. John R. from JWine would like to partner with Rotary to really expand this event. Ken Rouse has the lead role, Deb C. and mark to assist.
Club Meeting Survey: Mark handed out 2 sets of results (all noted tabulated numbers, and a summary of key points taken from the actuals) of the early January Survey. Overall the membership seems very comfortable with our meeting and times. If there are questions call Mark at925-786-8435.
St. Patrick’s Day Parade: Rob announced the St. Patrick’s Day Parade 3-14 am in Sedona, and float. Please volunteer. Call Rob if you would like to participate.
Member Social: Mark announced that the Member Social had to be rescheduled from 2-25 to 4-28, Tuesday from 5-7 at JWine Bistro. This is actually a recruiting event so please invite your friends/neighbors/work colleagues who might be interested in joining Rotary. This is a club Hosted event. Not to miss the wine and beer as well as small bites at JWIne.
Charitable Fund Summary: Rob also led a discussion of the current financials of the Club Charitable Fund. Overall $25K Total, $10K for grants this year, $15K for reserves. $5K has already been awarded this Rotary Year 7-1-19 thru 2-20-20. The Grant Committee needs to interview the grant submissions, Interview and select the 2020 recipients. 2 volunteers are needed for the grant Interview for the Grant Panel. If you would like to be on the Panel, please call Rob.
