We don't usually have a meal at our club meetings, but when the District Governor comes to visit we have to do something a little special.
The meeting began with a program provided by Youth Services featuring high school students who received scholarships for summer camps, international experiences and introducing incoming exchange student Sofia from Brazil.
After listening to the youth experiences, District Governor gave a motivational speech on setting goals and growing a club.

Three of the ten recipients of Summer Camp Scholarships pictured above spoke about their experiences and what each got out of the camp. The scholarships are for summer camps that help the young people to develop their skills in a sport, science or the arts.

Again this year our club partnered with Sedona Sister Cities to sponsor a local high school student, this year Fernando Quisumbing, to the Sister Cities International Youth Leadership Summit in Washington, DC. Fernando spoke about the leadership and negotiating skills building instruction and experience.

The club was introduced to our new exchange student from Brazil. She spoke a bit about her first impressions of Sedona and school here and her hopes for the year.

After listening to the student presentations, District Governor Joe Sweeney spoke to the club about the importance of having goals in building club membership. This is not Joe's first visit to the club and we are always delighted to see him.
