Taste of Sedona Village Celebrates Another Successful Year!
More Than 300 Attend Rotary’s Community Food Festival; Tortas de Fuego Wins People’s Choice Award
Great food, local wines, lively music and a little friendly competition brought more than 300 residents and visitors together Sunday, October 18, for the second annual Taste of Sedona Village, hosted by the Rotary Club of Sedona Village at The Collective Courtyard & Grotto in the Village of Oak Creek.
Building on the success of its inaugural year, the event showcased the remarkable variety of culinary offerings available throughout the Village and Verde Valley. Participating restaurants served an abundance of delicious local specialties, giving guests the opportunity to sample favorite dishes, discover new dining experiences and celebrate the businesses that help make the community special.
One of the afternoon’s highlights was the spirited People’s Choice competition, with guests casting votes for their favorite restaurant offerings. When the votes were counted, the winners were:
First Place: Tortas de Fuego
Second Place: Dellepiane / Willy’s Empanadas
Third Place: Carolina’s Chocolate
The competition added excitement to an afternoon that also featured wine and beer tastings, live music by guitarist Eric Miller, and opportunities to participate in raffles and a silent auction.
Proceeds from Taste of Sedona Village support the Rotary Club of Sedona Village’s service initiatives benefiting local youth, veterans and community projects, including the Village Rotary Community Garden, as well as international humanitarian programs.
With two successful years behind it, Taste of Sedona Village is quickly becoming a favorite community tradition, combining the best of local food and hospitality with Rotary’s commitment to service.
“We were delighted to see so many from our Village community enjoying this special event,” said Jennifer Bowles, project leader for the Rotary Club of Sedona Village. “The enthusiasm of our participating restaurants, the generosity of our sponsors and the wonderful turnout remind us what makes this community so special. Taste of the Village is about much more than great food. It brings neighbors together while helping Rotary make a difference in the lives of others.”
Bowles also expressed appreciation to the participating restaurants, beverage providers, sponsors and volunteers whose contributions made the event possible.

History: Paul Harris
Rotary started with the vision of one man — Paul Harris, a lawyer who envisioned a place where professionals of diverse backgrounds could exchange ideas and form meaningful, lifelong friendships. His idea took shape in 1905 when the first Rotary club meeting was held in downtown Chicago. Harris’ death in 1947 death prompted an outpouring of contributions to The Rotary Foundation and his name continues to evoke the passion and support of Rotary members and friends.
