Veterans Hospital Raffle - Independence Day weekend
Fellow Rotarians and Friends,
We had another successful raffle fund raising weekend for the veterans at the Prescott hospital, thanks to your exceptional support.
The Raffle Ticket Wranglers sold tickets, engaged the community, and raised awareness of the Prescott Veterans Hospital and our Club. And, a special thanks to those who pulled multiple shifts: (listed in order of their appearance) Carol and Jeff Hess, Paul Butler, Brad Parker, Dave Wisner, Miki Dzugan, Jennifer Bowles, Carol Hess, Erika Tobias, Cathleen Banister-Marx, Tracey Thie, Paul Bowles, Dave Whisner, Jennifer Bowles, Carol Hess, Erica Tobias, Brad Parker, John Marx, Paul Bowles, Jennifer Bowles, and Gary Thie. Note that Dave Whisner, Cathleen Banister-Marx, and John Marx are friends, and friends they are, of our Club and our community.
Paul Butler, Commander, USN, Ret. deserves special thanks for helping to move and restore the equipment to the storeroom, serving as a Ticket Wrangler, helping set up and take down every day, and navigating his land-barge without incident.
On Friday, we collected $1,137, Saturday $939.22, and Sunday $937.09 (including $100 that Miki received from a thoughtful donor). Of interest, $695 of the donations were made on PayPal (less $18.16 in PayPal fees - about 2.6%) that would not have been possible without Jennifer's expertise, guidance, and, most of all, patience. So, that gives us about $2,995.15 that we raised for the veterans this weekend. Nice.
Once again, our Club has done itself proud. Service above self, even in the summer heat.

The winner of the $100 Clark's gift card, donated by Carol & Jeff, was selected on Sunday. The winner was Sheri Scott. Sheri had purchased three tickets. The gift card was presented to Sheri on Monday.
Fall Splendor
Garden Tour Features Free Lectures at Garden Fest
The Yavapai County Master Gardeners, in collaboration with the Sedona Village Rotary Club, will host the Master Gardener Fall Splendor Sedona-VOC Garden Tour and Community Garden Fest.
These concurrent events are designed to offer attendees inspiration and practical insights tailored specifically to gardening in the unique Red Rock region. Both will take place on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
There is no cost for the Rotary Garden Fest and no reservations are needed.
